I'm a huge nerd who gets easily excited over books, yarn, Doctor Who, coffee, and so much more.

I had the weirdest dream that I was a fancy fox who took a kilted Misha Collins to Medieval Prom. #gishwhes
I’ve been waiting for this to go online since yesterday. Chris Hardwick stops by Gadget Pron and Matt Mira tells his best Black Friday deals. Oh, and he uses a telestrator to umm help.
Watch this because it is the best.
he is so, so perfect.
This vacation has gone by entirely too fast.
I had to wait until today for the fiance’s gifts to be delivered (his bday was yesterday), but we would not have been home in time to get them yesterday anyways. He says he loves them, I got him “The Chronic” on vinyl, and a copy of Chris Hardwick’s book The Nerdist Way. I also bought him a few smaller but geeky things to give to him early.
Shark week started yesterday, because of course I would not only get it on my birthday but the fiance’s birthday as well.
I have a mountain of books to read. I’m in the middle of John Irving’s book that is coming out next week, In One Person, which took me a bit to really get into it, but it is really fantastic. I have 3 other advanced copies of books I got through Goodreads, plus two others I picked up at work to read. Then of course yesterday the new Charlaine Harris book, then the sequel to Divergent, as well as Bitterblue came out! And next week there is at least the next book by Cassandra Clare coming out. So many good books, so little time!
And of course I’ve been knitting away, car trips that are close to 4 hours each way are great for that. I’m about 25% done the Summer Queen Shawl out of the book Knits for Nerds. I still need to finish a hanging kitchen towel which will take me no more than 3 hours to finish. And I need to block my finished Westlake Shawl (pattern by Stephen West), and start figuring out what I want to knit for the wedding.
Last but not least, “Avengers” tomorrow night! I work 4-close (about 10:30), then a couple people are coming over to our place since we have theater right around the corner and seeing the midnight release! I am so glad I don’t work until 6 pm on Friday night!

Can we call ourselves a fandom? I think we deserve it or a term better than that. Because seriously, THE NERDIST PODCAST IS TAKING OVER TUMBLR. There are so many Tumblrs dedicated, or named after, the hosts or jokes of the podcast.
There’s:
Chris explains ENJOY YOUR BURRITO on LATE NIGHT.
This is the place that inspired it, Baja Fish.
